After his success at the battle of Caput Vada, Petrus Patricius advanced his forces north towards the city of Carthage, there he came across Thapsus, which had its doors closed, after a brief respite he lauched an all out offensive. Shattering the walls and pulversing the defenders. He then ordered Thapsus to be burned to the ground and all the men, women an children to be taken into slavery.

I thought the objective was to liberate Roman towns and their Catholic population from the Arian Heretic Vandels? Surely this report is wrong? ??
