There was a different air to Constantinople this morning as the crowds made their way to the races at the Hippodrome. As has become the norm these past few months the Reds dominated proceedings. This seemd to enrage the racing clubs who urged the crowd into a frenzy. The crowd who had began the morning chanting “Blues” or “Greens” suddenly began chanting “Nika”. As if a replanned event the hostile racing teams quickly overran the few Vigiles posted at the Hippodrome and surged onto the track where their leaders urged them to surround the Great Palace and oust the Arian Dictator who has cursed the city.
As of midday the large crowd estimated at 30,000 strong and led by the leaders of the racings clubs have begun surrounding the palace complex. There have been some minor engagements with the Dictator’s Bucelarii as the crowd attempts to push forward. The crowd is currently calling for the ousting of the Dictator and the revoking of the many recent Lex’s pasted by him. Some Senators have seen this as an opportunity to overthrow the Dictator and have thrown in their weight behind the crowd. There are reports of several fires breaking out throughout the city as well.
(Read: As this is an important event, the game will be paused until all players in Constantinople submit their orders. Players outside of Constantinople can continue with non-related events but will not be able to intervene in the riots. )

Aggghhh I have just got those streets nice and clean and the cobble stones relaid for the coronation and some gits are digging up my cobble stones to use as sling shot ammo and if people are not really careful we would end up with blood all over my nice clean streets. Not a good Omen at all for the reign of his Majesty Justin II.
Can I urge everyone to remain really calm and not do anything hasty or rash. The people are allowed to lobby the Emperor via the clubs to remedy what they consider to be wrongs. But clearly digging up my cobble stones and breaking into warehouses and setting fires is wrong.
Any chance of the Patriarch getting on with this coronation and ending this interim dictatorship quickly before the whole city goes up? A tax rebate would be handy as well and cheaper than having to rebuild the city........if anyone else as a spare 5,000,000 wealth knocking round they may wish to consider a interest free loan to the Treasury?
