This is where you post your suggestions for new military units within the game.

Are there any slingers etc (missile troops) in the game as I am sure these were about at the time?

The Sagitarii are archers although I agree there are not more lighter troops available... What does everybody else think?

At this period the majority of both Roman & Persian Cavalry were basically mounted Archers while bows, slings, javalins, darts, staff slings and perhaps a few cross bows were all standard infantry weapons. So almost all Roman Units if not individual fighters would be able to fight at a distance as well has exchange hand to hand blows.
No great advantage over Persians who also fought in this way but a major advantage over Gothic and Vandal Cavalry lacking missile weapons.
My feeling is that units/troop types should have both a hand to hand and a distance fighting ability and commanders should state if they are going to try and keep at a distance and use missiles or close to hand to hand.
If people want to include odd units I possibles would include:
1) Persian Elephants 2) Camel Troops 3) Artillery
Period is a bit early for the use of Greek Fire at sea but perhaps someone could come up with something like it. Just make sure by Character is not on the Ship when its tried out!
