Bacchus looked around as he heard his name bellowed and quickly moved to sit next to Emperor Justinian. "Of course Emperor Justinian," he said as he settled in, "Did you know that the barbarians you sent our armies to subdue abandon their cities at the slightest sign of hostilities? If your citizens won't even stay to defend their homes how can you expect to have a civilized society like ours?" He laughed as he poured himself some more wine.

Justinian laughed loudly...
"Well then we are just the type of men to spread civilisation to the unholy masses like the Gepids. But it isnt the heady days of Rome our enemies are smarter."
"Tell me Bacchus how is your wife, if I remember she is indeed a beauty."

Bacchus grinned, "Yes Emperor, she is quite the sight. She gave birth to our first son not too long ago. Spending the year in the city means I finally get some quality time, first time since the birth. Have you found yourself a new consort?"

Justinian frowned...
"No...I am still trying to decide what to do with Theodora...She currently sits in my jail awaiting my decision. One I am loathe to make because of Anthanius."
